Treasured Friends
Treasured Friends is a non-profit 501(c) (3), foster-based cat and dog rescue group serving Northwest Indiana and surrounding Illinois suburbs. Originally founded in 1997, Treasured Friends earned a 501 ( c) (3) status in May of 1998. Treasured Friends is governed by a Board of Directors and entirely supported by approximately 30 unpaid volunteers. Our dedicated volunteers donate their time every week doing various jobs such as setting up and taking down the cages for our adoptions every weekend at Petsmart, fostering animals, doing the laundry, taking care of the paper work and numerous other duties. We could not survive without them! One of our main goals is to increase the number of lives we save by promoting the low cost spay or neuter programs available in our area. This is the ONLY way the pet overpopulation problem will be decreased.
